"What brings 'connect' between people?"
What brings 'connect' between people?
When
I asked this question to myself, I reflected on some of my experiences where I
have failed to create that 'connect'.
What I felt was;
One
of the reasons why people don't connect or open up with us is, they feel that
the environment doesn’t seem to be 'informal'.
The very nature of being 'formal' makes people hesitate during some
interactions. It's not that, they are incapable or they are fearful. It's
because they need some space to get into the 'flow' of interactions. As leaders
it's our responsible to bring that 'change' in environment. Because, quite
often we don't know others' state of mind.
When
I said; informal, it doesn't mean the way
we dress or the way we violate certain etiquettes.
It
only means, the way we talk, the way we engage them, more importantly the way
we listen to them; especially to their challenges so that they feel relieved
and look out for solutions.
I
found it useful and also profoundly experienced the 'connect' when interacted
with some of my colleagues, facilitators and especially with aspirants.
You
may want to reflect on the below questions:
- To what extent I felt 'connect' with people in my last interaction?
- What changes I want to bring in my interactions so that, I can create a great 'connect' with people?
These
are my personal experiences and just wanted to share.
Thanks
for reading,
Thanks for sharing. As per my experience whether it is informal or formal environment the biggest driver for connecting two people is the trust. The sheer trust between two people will fade other things away.... Whether it is environment, situations or troubles.....thanks for sharing this once again
